Arthur Hamilton Bee was born on May 25th, 1889. He was born in Adelaide, South Australia and soon moved to Carnarvon, Western Australia. He was the son of Thomas Bee who lived in Millicent South Australia. He was Christian following the Church of England. His physical features in the year 1916 presented a normal complexion. He was 5 ft 7 inches in height. Weighed 140 lbs. With a chest measurement of thirty-six inches. These were all average for the time. Bee worked as a Bank Clerk, and he had no prior military experience and was single at the time. Bee enlisted in Geraldton, WA on March 7, 1916. His unit number was 29497. He was part of the 3rd Division Artillery, AIF. He embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on the HMAT A60 Aeneas on the 3rd of October 1916 towards England.

He arrived in Plymouth on the 19th of November. Soon afer he was admitted to Fovant Military Hospital due to an injury until 29th December 1916. He then trained at the Researve Brigade Austalia Artillery. In July of 1917 Arthur Bee was moved to a new rank of Gunner. Not a promotion with high status but just a new position with a pay of 6- per day.

He was deployed in France as part of the Howitzer Brigade 118 in August 1917. While in France he fought alongside the British, French, and Canadian troops. Bee was to a field hospital in France in February 1918 with Bronchitis and sent to England to recover. He was discharged from hospital in April to the No 3 Command Depot to convalesce and complete further training. He proceeded overseas to France again in September 1918

 He returned to England in January 1919 and went to hospital sick with inflammed wrist and influenza. He married his wife Isabella Emily Mugson on the 1st of September 1919.

Bee returned to Australia with his wife arriving back in December 1919. he was discharged 14th February 1920.

Bee lived in Western Australia and died 17th May 1956 at the age of 67. He was buried at Karrakatta Cemetery. His gravestone states he was the beloved husband of Emm and father of Amy, Bill, Geoff, John and Raymond.
