Gordon's parents were Arthur Herbert Gilbert and Harriet Mowlan. Gordon attended North Pine State School
his parents were living at North Pine prior to the war. He enlisted 29 October 1915, Brisbane and his occupation was a driver. Gordon had been one of a family of seven and the last of three brothers to enlist. The first was Horace [109] and Herbert [1650] was second. Gordon was killed in action on 3 September 1916, Villers-Bretonneux, Somme, France.
