Harry Huckson enlisted in January 1916 and was married on 1 March 1916. Harry left Australia in August 1916 but must have fallen ill on board the ship and he was disembarked gravely ill on 3 November 1916 at Cape Town South Africa. He died some three weeks later from cerebro spinal meningitis, in the Infectious Diseases Hospital in that city. His wife gave birth to son on the 27 January 1917.
