Two tours of duty

Leonard was aged 33 when he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 28 Dec 1914.
Leonard embarked on the 31 May 1915 from Adelaide on HMAT Geelong A2, with the 27th Infantry Battalion.
Leonard was invalided home (with rheumatism) in Sep 1915 and discharged from the A.I.F.
Leonard enlisted again in Aug 1916, embarking on the 21 Sep 1916 from Adelaide on HMAT Commonwealth A72 with the 9th reinforcements, 32nd Battalion.
Leonard returned to Australia on 10 Mar 1918.
