CLEMENT PARSONS TAYLER was born on 2nd October, 1894, at Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, the son of Mr. J. Sinclair Tayler and Mrs. Alice Tayler. He was educated at Hamilton College, Hamilton, Victoria, and joined the service of the Bank at Melbourne on 9th April, 1911.

Clement Parsons Tayler enlisted in the A.I.F. in July, 1915, and became a member of the 57th Battalion, 15th Brigade. He served in France in several engagements, and was promoted from private to sergeant. He became very ill with trench feet while on active service, but was afterwards able to do clerical work on the Staff.
