During the War
Edwin was wounded in action in France in September 1917. Sustained shrapnel wounds to his back and upper arm, was treated in England and returned to regular service. He was wounded again in 1918 suffering a leg injury and was returned to Australia. He was discharged on 24th November 1918.

After the War
Edwin Returned to Australia and in 1919 married Lilian Elizabeth Whittle in Randwick. They travelled to England after they married and in 1920 their first child Margory May Kersley was born (my Grandmother). Soon after they returned to Australia where they moved to Western New South Wales. We now have family all around Australia from Melbourne, Sydney, Bathurst, Trangie, Dubbo, South East Queensland and Tasmania.
