Biography contributed by Sharyn Roberts

MR. W. E. VICKERS
Ambulance Superintendent
From yesterday, the Dubbo Ambulance Station came under the  supervision of Mr. W. E. Vickers, the new Superintendent.
The new-comer hails from the Metro politan area, where he earned high-class credentials. He has eight years' responsible service at headquarters to his credit, ;and for three years was officer in-charge of the Balmain-Drummoyne Five Dock station, where his organisation command tho highest praise from the Board.

Dubbo is the first country appointment, Mr. Vickers has considered.  In the Great War, he did three years on the 1st Australian Hospital Ship, under Dr. Gordon Craig. Among his many experiences during that hectic period, he was through the horrors of Sulva Bay, where so many of our gallant defenders were killed. He carries the
highest certificates in his calling, and promises to prove the right man in the right place at the head of Dubbo District Ambulance.

In his hours of leisure, if an Ambulance, chief enjoys such blessing, Mr. Vickers is fond of tennis, so local clubs will benefit by a new member, one who should prove an acquisition.
