Born in Ballarat and a horseman by trade, Robert Anderson was 38 years and married when enlisted on the 4th of April 1918 in the 4th General (Victorian) Reinforcements, Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Private, Number 54853. His Unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board RMS Orontes on the 5th of June 1918 and disembarked Orontes sick on the 10th of June 1918 at Liverpool. On the 23rd of December 1918 discharged at own request on termination of war services. Suffered from chronic dyspepsia, physically overage had large atomic dilated stomach, pain on left side of stomach and had pyorrhoea, airolaris. Discharged as permanently unfit after return to No.3 Military District Australia. Returned to Australia per S.S.Manuka. Died after discharge on the 15th of July 1919. Tree No: 3595
