Decoration Militaire (Belgium)
'This N.C.O. has proved himself exceptionally gallant, resourceful, and successful on patrol work at night. During this BattalionUs periods in the line, from 13th March to 5th April, 1917, patrols kept in touch with the enemy from dark until dawn nightly, and Sergeant KINROSS always volunteered for this work, which was of a very dangerous nature and usually meant entering the German wire. As a leader of patrols he has been very valuable, and the information he gathered has always proved to be reliable. He has the entire confidence of his men. This N.C.O. did consistently good work during the whole period (4 months(+) that the Battalion was on the SOMME front.'
