On the 4th April 1963, Lance Corporal Robert H Scott, 2nd Australian Divisional Train, 15th Company, Australian Army Service Corps (Reg No-7101), labourer from School Hill, Minmi, New South Wales and 5 Deakin Street, Kurri Kurri, N.S.W. (1944), died at Belmont, N.S.W., age 67 years 3 months, and his ashes have been interred at Newcastle Memorial Park, N.S.W., date unknown. Location of Ashes - Rose N 1/23.

Born at Minmi, New South Wales on the 27th December 1895 to Robert, died 15.8.1899, Minmi, N.S.W., age 34, father of 3, buried at Minmi Cemetery, N.S.W., Right Hand Side, Section 28, Plot 031, from School Hill, Minmi, N.S.W., and Jane Scott nee Hindman, re-married to Henry Nelson, 1901, Minmi, N.S.W., Henry died 14.5.1927, age 78, buried at Minmi Cemetery, N.S.W., Left Hand Side, Section 26, Plot 012, Jane died 4.10.1939, Wallsend Hospital, N.S.W., age 66, mother of 5 sons and 4 daughters, sleeping at Minmi Cemetery, N.S.W., Left Hand Side, Section 26, Plot 012, from School Hill, Minmi, N.S.W.; husband of Vera Mary Scott nee Cobbin, married?, died 1.3.1995, Belmont, N.S.W., age 87.

Robert enlisted on the 27th August 1917 with the 17th Battalion, age 21 years 8 months, at Newcastle, N.S.W.

Unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A14 Euripides on the 31st October 1917.

Disembarked Devonport, England 26.12.1917.

Proceeded O/Seas to France from Dover, England 1.4.1918.

Wounded in action - 7.6.1918 (GSW right leg).

Transferred to 15th Company, Australian Army Service Corps 8.1.1919.

Appointed Lance Corporal 3.2.1919.

Admitted to hospital 19.2.1919 (septic throat).

Commenced return to Australia 22.7.1919.

Robert arrived home on the 5th September 1919, being discharged on the 5th October 1919.

Mr. Scott’s name has also been inscribed on the Minmi St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Roll of Honour and the Star of Minmi Lodge, No. 1606, G.U.O.O.F.
Not officially commemorated.
