Richard Parker Murphy (1879-1947)

Service number 5380 

Richard Parker Murphy served in World War One in 1916 in the 22nd battlion, which was formed 25th of march 1915 at broadmeadows camp in victoria. most of the battlion embarked for egypt 8th of may 1915, then deployed to Gallipoli septemeber 1915. The battlion served on the Peninsula until the final evacuation in December 1915. In March 1916, the battlion embarkerd for france.

The 22nd battlion became part of the 6th battlion in the secound division.

Richard Parker Murphy enlisted for the war on the 28th of January 1916. He embarked from Melbourne, Victoria as a private 28th of July 1916; He embarked on the HMAT Themistocles A32 ship.

Richard Parker Murphy was born in 1879 and was an only child. He died in 1947 in Ballart, Australia at the age of 68.
