Military Medal
'At POLYGON WOOD, - Eat of YPRES - during operations on the 26th/27th September 1917, Lance Corporal EDESON with a detachment reinforced the right flank of our captured position which was dangerously exposed, and controlled his Stokes Gun with great skill, and appreciably helped to hold the position gained. During the advance, this man with his gun succeeded in knocking out a Bosche Machine gun which was worrying the Infantry. He also placed a well-directed barrage on CAMERON HOUSE which enabled the Infantry to successfully take that Strong Point. His courage and decision during the most trying moments, is worthy of great praise.'
