Enlisted 26/9/14. Commissioned into the AIF on the 23rd September 1914 after having served in the Senior Cadets and Citizen Forces as a Colour Sergeant and 2nd Lieutenant since July 1911 - Promoted to Lieutenant from 25/3/15. Wounded in Action 10/5/15 Gallipoli - bomb blast with wounds to head, jam, hand, both legs and back. - 37 wounds all up

To hospital at Alexandria, then London sailed to Australia on 7/11/15.
