Mary was the daughter of Kingsmill Pennefather and Harriet Theresa Pennefather nee Hobbs.
On the 26th December, 1918, at St Margaret's, Westminister, London, Sister M. E. (Mollie) Pennefather married Lieutenant W. J. R. Roope.
