He was 20 and the son of Stanford James and Charlotte Elizabeth Rogers, of 22, Felbrigge Rd., Seven Kings, Essex, England.

In the United Kingdom, he is commemorated in the  Ilford War Memorial Gazette, in the Ilford War Memorial Hall and on the Goodmayes Junior School Memorial Plaque.
