Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Mr. Ben Robinson of Newtown, George was born at Newtown in 1899 and educated at the Petersham Commerical School.  He joined the ofice staff at the Sydney Morning Herald 3 1/2 years ago, and soon after entered its machine department.

He enlisted on July 29, 1918 as a Private in the 23rd general service reinforcements, but got only as far as Capetown when the armistice was signed.
