Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Sergeant and Mrs BOXSELL of Lane Cove Road, North Sydney, NSW

His education at the noted Fort Street School was only just completed when war was declard, and, young as he was, he was one of the earliest to respond when the call for volunteers resounded through the land.  He sailed for Egypt in October, 1914, and was one of the gallant Anzacs of imperishable renown, who, against fearful odds, stromed the apparently impregnable heights of Gallipoli.  He was severely wounded on the eving of the first day on the Peninsula, and after long weary months spent in hospital, was invalided home, arriving in Sydney on August 31st, 1915.
