Lionel Mason Snow enlisted as a married medical practitioner aged 52 years as a Captain on 6 July 1915 in the Medical Officers Unit. His unit embarked from Fremantle, Western Australia on board HMAT A24 Benalla on 1 November 1915 and he returned to Australia on 21 July 1917. By 1921, he was President of the Tamworth Returned Services League and a member of the Tamworth Rifle Club.
