VEN. ARCHDEACON SINGLE.
The death is announced in Newcastle of the Venerable Archdeacon Keith Stuart Cress well Single, after a brief illness. He leaves a widow and four daughters. At the time of his death, the Archdeacon was rector of the parish of Hamilton. He received his training for the ministry at Moore College, Sydney, and was ordained deacon in 1910 and priest in 1912. He was appointed rector of Hamilton in 1942, and formerly was curate of Singleton in 1910-13, priest-in-charge of Lambton 1913-15, chaplain, A.I.F., 1915- 18, rector of Denman, 1918-20; Murrurundi, 1920-28, and East Maitland 1928-42. In 1940 he was appointed Honorory Canon of Christ Church Cathedral, and Archdeacon of Newcastle in 1950. The late Archdeacon had a wide experience in diocesan affairs as clerical secretary of Synod, and as a member of the Diocesan Council and Missions' Committee.
