CONSEQUENCES OF HIS SERVICE
Was hospitalized in France and England for 3.5 months with pleurisy and hypertrophy of the heart, contracted while serving on the Somme, France. Due to exposure. Invalided back to Australia 1917 75% incapacitated. Discharged as permanently unfit November 1917.
Maurice died 29 August 1924, aged 31 years, leaving a wife and three year old son.
