Originally reported as Missing in Action - http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article133849231, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article134866769John’s remains were never located, so he has been commemorated at the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France.
Name has been inscribed on the Adamstown Citizens' Memorial (photos, unveiled on the 17th December 1921), Adamstown St. Stephen's Church of England Roll of Honour and the Book of Gold.
There is no headstone for John’s parents, therefore no memorial inscription to tell us of the supreme sacrifice of their son during The Great War, so I placed a memorial cross adorned with poppies on the gravesite February 2019, taken a photo of the memorialised grave and uploaded the photo onto the Northern Cemetery website as a permanent record of his service.
