Attestation paper has place as birth as Duthil, SA which may be a property name but records have his place of birth as Dublin, SA.

Son of David Oborn and Agnes Oborn nee Craig of Dublin, SA later of Mount Barker, SA.

Brother of Elder Harrah Oborn who was killed in action on 28 October 1917 while serving with the 5th Field Artillery Brigade. Buried in the Belgian Battery Corner Cemetery, Plot 11, Row E, Grave 4.

On 18 November 1916 Anthony married Dorothy Rose Smith in the Methodist Church, Mount Barker, SA.

Commenced return to Australia on 16 June 1919 aboard HT Ormonde disembarking on 29 July 1919
