Henry Arthur FORD was born at Gladstone on 08.06.1881 to Herbert (Samuel??) and Alice FORD nee HOLLIS (13.05.1860).
His parents had married at Crystal Brook on 08.06.1878 His father Samuel FORD died on 06.06.1893.
Henry Arthur FORD joined the AIF on 08.01.1916 and was allocated service number 4427. He was attached to the 11th reinforcements of the 27th Battalion.
He embarked to France via Egypt. It would appear he suffered influenza and was ill for a great deal of his service.
He was hospitalised with ‘trench feet’ in France. He served in France until he was returned to Australia on 15.04.1918 as medically unfit.
He was discharged on 27.06.1918 as medically unfit.
He was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
