Son of Francis MORGAN, Nelanglo, New South Wales

The death occurred at St. John of God Hospital on Thursday, August 12, of Mr. Francis Morgan, 70, of Gundaroo. Born at Holbrook, he lived all his life in the Gunning-Gundaroo district.

Although he had been ailing for almost a year, his death came as a great blow to his numerous friends in the district.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Sarah Morgan, two sisters, Misses Mary and Catherine, all of Gundaroo, and by two brothers, John, of Gunning, and Raymond, of Goulburn.

The deceased was a veteran of the first world war having served in the Australian Light Horse. Despite his age. he also enlisted in the Second world war and was assigned to garrison duties. He was one of the foundation members of the R.S.L. at Gunning, and was for over 30 years an active committeeman of the Gunning Show Committee. He was a Councillor of the Gunning Shire Council fromn 1920 until 1941.

Deceased was known throughout the whole of the district for his great kindness and sympathy for people in distress and will long be remembered for high character and charming personality.
