Son of John Owens and Mary Owens nee Hunter of Townsville, QLD.
Husband of Alice Owens nee Grant of Guly Street, Brisbane South, QLD. Thomas and Alice married on 2 February 1899 in QLD.
In 1915 Thomas enlisted but was sentenced by the DCM for six months and to be discharged but it was later remiitted and he was re-attested in 1916
Commenced return to Australia on 23 May 1917 aboard HT Ayrshire disembarking on 19 July 1917 at Sydney for onward travel to Brisbane
