Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Death Of Boer War Veteran
The death occurred on Tuesday of Mr. Frank Brown, who left SA with the Fifth Contingent for the South African War and served with the 3rd and 5th Bushmen. Enlisting again in World War I, he served in Egypt with the 9th Light Horse. Mr. Brown, who was 87, died at the Repatriation Hospital, Springbank. Three sons survive. The superintendent of the Soldiers' Home, Myrtle Bank (Mr. R. Whittaker) said last night that Mr. Brown had continued to be 'a fine old soldier' since he came to the home from Eden Valley in 1937.
