St Columba"s Hawthorne SA was the scene of a very pretty wedding on the evening of March 11 1922 between Alan Cameron walker Esq, of Huonden Macquirie Street Hobart, Tasmania and Sister DM Hook, who prior to her marriage was Matron of Walwa Private Hospital Fullarton. Rev JW Clarke MM officiated at the ceremony and Mr Winsloe Hall the church organist presided at the organ the church having been beautifully decorated for the occasion.  The bride entered on the arm brother and looked charming in the frock of creme charmeuse,  with becoming touches of silver and pearl; a veil finished with Venetian rose point lace and wreath of orange blossom and wearing a pendent that was a gift from the bridegroom.  Her sister Adelaide Hook was her bridesmaid. The wedding night was spent at Mount Lofty. On the 13 April 1922 they were travelling on the SS Narkunda for England.  Matron Uren RRC entertained a farewell tes for Sister Hook.  Diggers Gazett 7 April 1922 p.46.
