Great Sydney Central Station Honour Board
Walter Henry CREBERT, (Service Number 3045) was born on 8 November 1892 in Newcastle. He commenced working with the NSW Railways in June 1908 as an apprentice painter at Newcastle in the Locomotive Branch. In 1912, still an apprentice painter he transferred to Eveleigh. On 21 June 1913 his apprenticeship expired, and his employment ended, but by November 1913 he had been re-hired as a 2nd class tradesman painter. This position became permanent in March 1914 and is recorded as ‘painter’.
He was granted leave to join the Expeditionary Forces on 7 August 1915.
