Son of William Cooper and Jane Cooper nee Russell of Horseshoe Creek, Kyogle, NSW
Brother of Henry Thomas Cooper who died of wounds on 25 February 1917 while serving with the 9th Battalion. Henry was buried in the Dernacourt Communal Extension Cemetery. Plot V1, Row A, Grave 24
