Son of William T. Osborne and Lydia C. Osborne of Young Street, South Annandale, NSW.
While en route to England Claude was admitted to the ships hospital on 31 October 1918 and disembarked at Cape Town on 6 November 1918.
Commenced return to Australia from Cape Town on 4 December 1918 aboard HT Marathon disembarking on 1 January 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney
