Biography

"...1421 Private Patrick Joseph Maloney 9th Light Horse Regiment from Hammond, SA . Pte Maloney arrived in Egypt with the 11th Reinforcements to the 9th Light Horse Regiment on 7 February 1916. On 1 September 1917 he transferred to the 2nd Field Squadron, Australian Engineers as a Shoeing Smith and was promoted to Farrier Corporal on 25 May 1918. He died of malaria in the French Hospital, Damascus, on 19 October 1918." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
