Son of Tom Vane and Julia Laura Vane nee Reatey of Auckland, NZ.

Next of kin given as his sister Frances Martha Vane of Marian, Mackay, QLD. 

Commenced return to Australia on 18 Ocotber 1917 aboard HT Beltana as wounded disembarking on 10 December 1917 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane.

Husband of Riberg Annie Otoria Vane nee Svensson. William and Riberg were married in QLD on 4 June 1925.
