11 Sep 1916: Embarked Private, 6283, 6th Infantry Battalion, HMAT Euripides, Melbourne
13 Mar 1917: Involvement AIF WW1, Private, 6th Infantry Battalion, Transferred to England (due to wounds). on the "Warilda". He was sent to a variety of Hospitals throughout England until he rejoined his unit in France December 5, 1917. He remained with the unit until 1918, sent to Field hospital in January 1919 sick. wounded again in April 1919 and Treated for scabies while in Hospital. Rejoined his unit in France on April 24. He received a British War Medal and a Victory Medal.
