Theo Agassiz was the son of Joseph Charles and Theresa Mehi Agassiz who had both passed away years before the First World War. He gave his next of kin as Grace Mary Agassiz as his next of kin.

His brother, Lieutenant Cecil Traynor Agassiz 55th Battalion AIF was serving with Theo when he died and was returned to Australia wounded in 1917.

Another brother 15653 Roy Alfred Agassiz served with the Artillery and returned to Australia in 1919.

The three brothers all gave their address as Newtown, Sydney, New South Wales.
