Military Medal

'Near FREMICOURT on the night of the 19/20th May, for their gallant conduct and faithful discharge of duty with the 2nd Australian Infantry Bridgade Field Post Office. The tent in which these three men [132 J.A. JONES, 11771 H.W. SCOTT, 2719 H. MOODIE] were working was heavily shelled. Realising the risk of loss of the mail and particularly the registered mail, they gallantly remained at their post a great risk to themselves for the purpose of removing the mails in their charge to a place of safety. They succeeded in removing most of the stock before a direct hit completely destroyed the tent.'
