Husband of Olivia Renfrey Hames. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 11 December 1915 and embarked from Adelaide for overseas on 9 March 1916 aboard HMAT "Mongolia" (A28). He returned to Australia on 12 September 1917 and was discharged medically unfit on 15 January 1918. He died aged 26 years.
