Son of Patrick Joseph O'Neill and Lucy O'Neill nee Smith of Edward Street, Dalby, QLD

Brother of William James O'Neill who died of disease on 8 August 1918 while serving with the 5th Light Horse Regiment and is buried in the Gaza War Cemetery. Plot XXX11, Row F, Grave 7; Thomas Joseph O'Neill who returned to Australia on 17 July 1916 having served with the 11th Light Horse Regiment; Philip O'Neill who returned to Australia in 1919 having served with 41st Battalion and in WW2 having served with the 2/11 Field Company.

Commenced return to Australia on 24 July 1919 aboard HT Dongala disembarking on 28 August 1919 at Sydney for onward travel to Brisbane

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Post war Patrick worked at Clonagh Station, Cloncurry and was a member of the Cloncurry RSL
