James Edward Francis RYAN 5652

My Great Great Uncle was born in Richmond Victoria Australia in June 1876.
He had two older siblings, Bridget b 15 Apr 1873 and Mary Ellen b 1868 who were also born in Richmond.

His Father was Thomas Ryan, b County Carlow Ireland 1832 and was a Quarry man (powder monkey) in Ballarat Victoria.
Mother was Catherine Ryan ( nee Lawler) also born in County Carlow Ireland in 1838

James two sisters left Victoria to come and live in West Australia before their parents
came here to live also. They lived in
Bouverie St, West Leederville.

Both sisters married, only Bridget had children, three boys. Joseph, John & James.

James Ryan never married and signed up for the army at the age of 39 years and 7 months, on the 21-03-1916.

He died on the battlefield in Belgium on 20-09-2017.
