Son of John Urquhart and Margaret Urquhart nee McHutchison of 'Craigston', Coppin Street, East Malvern, Victoria.
Brother of Torquil Harold Urquhart who returned to Australia on 25 August 1919 having served with the 39th Battalion; Herbert Sinclair Urquhart who died of wound on 15 April 1918 while serving with the 21st Battalion and is buried in the Vignacourt British Cemetery, Plot I, Row A, Grave 24
5 February 1915 - enlisted at Victoria Barracks, Victoria, with the 1st Divisional Ammunition Column with the rank of Driver.
9 February 1916 - transferred to the 2nd Field Artillery Brigade
24 June 1916 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Euripides disembarking on 5 August 1916
Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
27 September 1916 - discharged at the 3rd Military District as medically unfit due to delusional insanity
