Brother, 2366 Pte. Isaac David Davies 28th Battalion, killed in action at Pozieres, 29 July 1916, aged 39. A younger brother, 774 Pte. Frederick Charles Davies 8th Battalion AIF was killed in action 14 April 1918, aged 26.
Two other brothers also served, 5006 Private Robert Daniel Davies 1st Australian Divisional Train and 3808 Private Arthur John Davies 12th Field Artillery Brigade.
