Son of Bernard O'Hagan of Field Road, Fulham, London, England.

Between 25 April 1919 and 25 July 1919 Michael took leave enhance his knowledge of bootmaking with W. O'Hagan, Yeldham Road, Hammersmith, London, England.

Commenced return to Australia on 8 October 1919 aboard HT Devon disembarking on 27 November 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney.
