Son of George J GORDON and May Geraldine GORDON nee WELSBY

The death occurred at Ilfracombe on Monday, 2nd July of Mr. Jack ("Digger") Gordon, a well 'known resident of Western Queensland. He has lived in the West all his life and was  born at Hughenden 49 years ago. He enlisted in the World War, 1914 18 and saw four years and 194 days service with the 5th Division ammunition column. Following the armistice he married Jessie Evelyn Swan Ferguson, with whom he returned to Longreach in 1919.

He is survived by his wife and four children, John, Cherie, Kenneth and Barbara.

The internment was in the Church of England Cemetery, Longreach, following a service in St. Andrew's Parish Church. The services in the church and at the graveside was conducted by the Rector (Rev. A. G. Reilly). Members of the Longreach sub-branch, R.S.S.I.L.A. acted as pall bearers.
