Son of James Oakley and Catherine Oakley of Norfolk, England.

Next of kin given as his brother H. Oakley of Oakland Villa, Brisbane, QLD later of Jackson Street, Petone,  Wellington, NZ.

Commenced return to Australia on 6 June 1918 aboard HT Berimah disembarking on 31 July 1918 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane
