Son of Richard and Annie Mary Usher of Oakey, Toowoomba; brother of Ralph Richard Usher who returned to Australia on 4 June 1919 having served with the 26th Battalion

12 July 1922 - Commonwealth Forces, Australia House, London wrote to Base Records, Melbourne stating that while Frank was reputed to have been buried in the Belgian Battery Corner Cemetery it had not been possible to locate Franks' grave or any evidence which would point to his grave site
