Emanuel had attempted to enlist when underage stating, wrongly, that his parents were deceased and had no guardian.

Son of George T. O'Hehir and Mary Jane O'Hehir nee Wilson of Railway Station, Carapooee, Victoria.

Commenced return to Australia on 4 June 1919 aboard HT Mahia disembarkin 17 July 1919

During 1927c Emanuel married Ada Rachel Williams in Victoria
