George Scott Black.

BLACK, George Scott. Private, No. 5234, 31st Battalion. Born at Rous Mill, Richmond River, N.S.W., and was educated at Lismore and Bundaberg S. He is the son of James Black and Mary Jane Black, of Goodwin Street, Bundaberg. Prior to enlisting, Private Black served two years on the office staff of the Bundaberg Mail." Afterwards was a farmer on the Richmond River. Private Black enlisted at Lismore and camped at Brisbane. Sailed for England on February 28th, 1918. Was sent to Salisbury Plains, being detained in Egypt for six weeks. Was despatched to France in August, 1918. Went into action at Bullecourt. Was stationed at Villiroy, but subsequently took up garrison duty at Cologne. Courtesy of
