Private William Lund's two older brothers, Trooper John Edward Lund and Rifleman Alfred Lund, served with the Royal New Zealand Army during World War 1. Trooper John Edward Lund also served during the Boer War.
Rifleman Alfred Lund was Killed In Action in December 1916. He rests approximately 5.5km from his brother at Y Farm Military Cemetery in France.
