Biography contributed by Robert Kearney

Percy George Howard (2342 and 6872) was so keen to serve that he enlisted twice.    He has two embarkation numbers (23/54/2 and 23/39/5) but on both trips from Melbourne he was discharged at Freemantle and returned to Melbourne and discharged as medically unfit.   He was not awarded any medals as he never reached a war zone .  2.12.16 medical report from Lieutenant Colonel Wilson declared that he should be discharged as permanently unfit owing to a problem with his left elbow which does not permit him to lift weights and has a 10% limitation upon extension.  This was apparently missed on the medical examination for second enlistment.
