Son of John Quinn and Maria Quinn nee Kinnane of Church Hill, Murwillumbah, NSW. Brother of Joseph Bernard Quinn who returned to Australia on 16 April 1918 having served with the 26th Battalion.

Commenced return to Australia on 6 October 1919 aboard HT Pakeha.
