"Mr. H. C. Duus.
Mr. H. C. Duus died in the Rosemount Military Hospital on August 19 from the effects of his participation in the late war. On his return from active service he took up land at the Beerburrum Soldier Settlement, but about five years ago he removed to Caboolture. He was a member of the Masonic Order and the Independent Order of Oddfellows. He is survived by his widow, two sons, and five daughters." - from the Queenslander 28 Aug 1930 (nla.gov.au)
